Im not sure when Thursday appeared, and then disappeared again, but the days come and go pretty quickly. I guess most of us complain about "where do the days go", but I really thought I had another day in the week...today is Friday!!!
We like to clean the boat when we dock in a marina, but we were too tired to do it on Wednesday, and we badly needed some R & R...which we did...if you have seen the last post!
We had originally anticipated just hosing our baby off, but if you are going to spend the time doing that, you may as well go the whole hog.
Out came the usual pile of cloths, mops, detergent, brushes and long handles. It is always amazing to me how many cloths we use in the execution of this task.
Waz had work to do in the engine room...as always He removed the port engine alternator and has had that sent away for fixing. We had been watching the battery voltage drop on the engine start batteries, and it was only recovered when the Genset was running to provide power to the battery charger.
He was hoping to fix it himself, but finally decided to get some outside help, around 3pm.
In the meantime, he was my occasional hose holder, bucket filler and general helpmate.
I like to take my time cleaning the boat...it being a labor of love, and all that, and I love being active and out on the boat itself. We spend so much of our time on the inside, that it is good to get out and love her from there. It is a good time to find what needs repair, if any, and what needs special attention.
Of course there are no photos:) I was just too darned busy.
Once the exterior is complete, I have to attend to the fly deck, which can take the majority of time, and still isn't complete. This is time consuming because it is enclosed in eisenglas which needs special treatment. I got the glas conditioner out too, so the 'windows' are now pristine:)...just a couple in the front to go...I have to get out through the window openings and stand on the sloped area above the pilot house. This is a bit tricky in the wind, so I waited for this morning to do that after breakfast.
Waz will clean the windows around the salon while I finish things off upstairs.
We have decided to finish the clean this morning, and then go back into town on the bikes, this afternoon. We have been advised to go on a tour of Flagler College, the former Ponce De Leon Hotel.
So that's it for now...talk to you again soon.
It’s truly a tough job to do some boat spring cleaning. Good thing you were not alone in doing the task. Maybe next time you could show some photos on how you proceeded with it? That would be something new boat owners would love to learn. Have a great day!

Thanks for your comment Bo.I just found it!!!! I guess I could write a whole blog on the subject. Did you have anything in mind, in particular? Each boater has their own favorite products, but we all know what our babies need!:)
