Parking at the back of the Event Center is always a good idea, because it makes our walk a little bit further to get down to the water.
The Marina was super busy this afternoon, which just happened to be the Seafood Festival at Punta Gorda. Musicians were setting up under tents in one part of the downtown area, while a Fair was in full swing in another.
Food booths. Don't ask me what Crabcake Sliders are!..and crab-n-mac is macaroni cheese with crab in it!
all at Laishley Park.
Down at the Marina....
...and the lucky winners brought in a total of 14lbs +. They won a $26,000 fishing boat, plus lots of $500 checks from different sponsors.
This Egret was watching all the proceedings.Yes, that is fishing line coming out the back of it. There are a few birds flying around that have fishing hooks and lines attached!
...and down the waterfront, the Tiki Bar at the Sheraton Hotel was packed and hopping. We were tempted to sit in the late afternoon sun and enjoy the scene too, but.... on second thoughts, peace, a cup of tea and a book sounded so much better. The view is fantastic too.
So, another Saturday comes to a close. We are now watching a movie, after a steak dinner...with asparagus, sweet potato cubes, cole slaw with mushrooms over the steak. Yummy:)
Ciao for tonight.
Sliders are anything on burger buns that are mini sized, generally a little larger than a Silver dollar.... say equivalent to a 1/4 regular bun.
