November 15th, Friday.

We spent a rather leisurely morning getting ready to pick up the rental car for the weekend. We met the marina cat..called Marina(original?) which was a stray kitten that adopted the folks here, and then we met the other Monika who is originally German (with that spelling!), and we had a long chat with her after we had a long chat with Greg, the Harbor Master at the Marina. He was catching up on some zzzz's as he is helping to look after his elderly (90 yr old) father who has had a hip replacement. Tough! That took care of a good hour and a half, and by then it was time to call Enterprise and get them to pick us up outside the Marina.
Our shuttle driver turned out the be Aussie born, but had lived most of his life in the USA, was ex-military and a generally interesting person.
We signed for a little Toyota Corolla...we quite like them, and at $14.99 per day for three days (less than $50 for a 3 day weekend) cant be beaten!
We had a list of things Waz needed for the boat, so we set off straight away to find them. We were on HWY 23 which is a main drag and there are businesses all along the hwy, including strip malls.

We eventually found the electronic parts Waz needs to rewire the electronics on the Autopilot. He is good with these things fortunately, and for the price of less than $10, he can re-do something that would cost us in excess of $300, for a new one, complete.
We needed another couple of things, so we found those and of course had to go into a store that was recommended to us, for some bulk purchases that were very inexpensive.
We had lunch at a Deli...a bit different to most of the ones we had been to, and had a hard time making some choices, but the food was ok, and not too expensive.

On the way home (this was late afternoon, by now) we decided to see what Old St Andrews town looked like, and we wanted to find the other Marinas in the area. We found the public dock at St Andrews, after taking a walk in the middle of the Historic district. Sorry...no photos as I didn't take my camera! shock horror! lol.
We entered what was called and Antique store, but was more like the largest collection of junk, antiques and collectables we have EVER seen. We OD'd very quickly and went further into Historic territory as the sun went down. The marina was full, and we think we found some other Loopers, but didn't knock on any hulls to find out.
Being hungry, we went looking for dinner, and somewhere to celebrate Waz's birthday with a meal out. I cook all week, three times a day, so I enjoy trying other people's cooking!

We found a 'Captains Table' restaurant in the middle of St Andrews and sat down. It was no a flash place and as we found, most of the food was fried!ack!

Waz ordered the Fisherman's plate which had a variety of fish, stuffed crab, tiny Bay scallops, oysters and fries, along with steamed veg. I ordered the 1/2 catfish and 1/2 oysters. Both plentiful and excellent, but the fried food was not being good to me. I had oysters for several hours afterwards. The fries were nice but I couldn't eat many and we had no room for dessert. We had ordered a plate of calamari for starters, because we were hungry, and it was HUGE...we should have stopped then and there, but had already ordered our mains. We went for a long walk afterwards to try and settle all the food...which we weren't able to finish, thankfully.

Back at the boat we  turned in for an early night as we planned to travel for the rest of the weekend.
