It is a hard thing to leave 'home' in Seabrook Marina. The staff have become our second family, and the friends we have made here and in other marinas are likewise. But, all things come to an end eventually, and I am sure we will come back at some stage. We like it here!
You can keep the weather, but you cant beat the warm hearts here in TX.
On a not so happy note (that last one was happy??) we found this peli sitting on the roof of one of the carports this morning. With all these wires overhead, it is small wonder that the Peli's are dropping like flies, injured. It is a most disturbing sight, I can tell you. I had to document this to send the photo to the Brown Pelican Rescue people.
The Wildlife service have been called, but this Peli is doomed. I doubt that anyone can rescue that broken wing. It is excruciating to watch the bird floundering around. A 3ft wing is no small matter.
On a happier note, we had a fabulous meal with Veronica and Roy at Opus, here in Kemah, on Saturday night. The soft shell crab for an entre was the meatiest I have yet eaten, and that followed by linguine with scallops and shrimp in a cream white wine sauce, was divine. THEN...Waz ordered the bananas Foster. Hmmmmmmmmmm ...and they brought out two plates. I said I hadn't ordered dessert...well, they said, this is ONE dessert cut into two. It was HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Roy was a real trooper though and helped me eat the portion which should have been for one person.:)
Well, I have to hurry up here...we have said goodbye to the office staff, paid the bill at the rental car company...ENTERPRISE..plug for them...they pick up and deliver anywhere. They are fantastic! AND we get a Looper's discount! woot, woot!
Katie is bringing back a photo stick we had given her to download some of her pics of us onto....but not sure where she is right now...she might be swimming to catch up! If you are reading this Katie:) I hope the water was warm, lol. Not to worry girl! we would find a way to get you back to Dean! Does USPS do people deliveries?
We have taken down the curtains from sides and back, and we can see the view out back now.
The pumpah guys have been to give us a final poo pump out, and we said our goodbyes to them.
Stephanie in the office said they wont rent out our berth for a week just in case we miss them too much and have to come back:) fat chance, Steph!:)
Silly me...I leant against one of the handrails when the pumpah guys were here, and popped the rib out ...it was doing just fine before that. Now it is a right 'pain' to say the least. Just what we don't need.
Well folks, the time has come. I need to send this off to the publisher, batten down the hatches and make sure everything that can fall down is down already.
The weather is overcast with a 40% chance of rain, but we cant wait for that to happen or we will still be here this time next week. We have a rendezvous in Delcambre (rhymes with Welcome) Louisiana for a week there. So we are Outa Here!
Fair winds et al...
ciao for now...or a week!
I miss you two already!!!
