Fort Meyers to Brunswick

The above photos was our view from the hotel room. Young men were out fishing on the side of the lake, and we couldn't figure if there was actually something to fish for! I guess there must have been.

On our visit to the Edison Mall, we found these kids pretending to be mannequins in the shop window. They were very cute:)

We ended up a book shop...fortunately:) We eventually found each other!!

I picked one of the new bestsellers off the pile and sat down in the next door Yoghurt shop table. If you want a very funny read, try this book about Joan Rivers, by her daughter Melissa. I tried hard not to wet my pants then and there, as they young man at a nearby table was rather disturbed by my mirth!:)

Joan was truly one of a kind, and VERY funny lady.

So..we set off back to Brunswick at a 'normal' time in the morning of Friday last. We ate breakfast in the dining room thing, and left the Hotel around 8.30am. The traffic out of Ft Meyers wasn't too bad, and we got straight onto I75 northbound, turning towards Ocala, and then eastbound towards Jacksonville, taking the ring road to skirt the city, and then I95 north towards Savannah, turning off at the first exit to Brunswick and home.

We arrived home mid afternoon, a bit tired, but not too bad. Laundry needed doing but could wait till the morning.
It was First Friday Night, in Historic Brunswick, and we set forth, after a rest and cuppa, to see what the town had to offer in the way of entertainment for the evening.

Galleries were full to overflowing, people on street corners promoting their local businesses and people everywhere, which was a cheering sight in a place that is normally too quiet.

The entertainment was excellent!
 Gallery openings!

Complete with a string septet. We didn't actually hear them playing...we left not long after this photo was taken. Too many people!!

This gallery was first time opening, and our neighbor was there painting. She has a small space near the bathrooms...it was the only space left! Waz was trying hard not to enjoy himself. Perhaps he was tired?

Here she is ..Sooz! our boat neighbor. She now rents this space at the new collective gallery....which has an interesting story, but I wont be telling that one here.

I love looking into the windows of shops that are closed. It may be a bit weird, but I get some interesting photos out of it. This was on the counter of an Insurance company. What does THAT say about them???

We asked a few 'locals' where to eat, and were pointed towards the Indigo Beach Shanty. The food was excellent, and we will no doubt be back...occasionally...it was a bit more expensive than we like, but at least it was a happy and humming place. Everyone in town seemed to be there.

The Ritz still shows movies...and other things...pretty late afternoon light!

I am sure someone will know the name of this kind of cloud....All I could see was a bird head ..see the beak on the left, and an eye??:)
Coming back to the Marina...the clouds were lovely and the reflections were excellent.

This is the bathroom block nearest to our berth. One bathroom on each side, men/wimmin.
 Pretty reflections??

The sunset was fantastic!
Across the top of the marshes opposite our neighbors bow.

We were happy to call it quits for the day and look forward to doing laundry tomorrow, Saturday, and having a day off before going back to pick up the car!
