Outlet Stores et al

Today being Sunday, we didnt have anything to get up for, in particular. We didnt realize just how late it was when we arose...it was well after 9am. As I said, nothing much to get up for. A leisurely breakfast of fruit and meusli with yoghurt and Tea, on the cockpit deck, and the decision was made to take a trip down the I45 to the Tanger Outlet stores at Exit 17, in case you ever want to go there:)

This is a brand new outlet mall in the middle of nowhere...well, amost nowhere. There is nothing surrounding it...literally outstanding in it's field!
It wasnt too busy for a sunday, and we were blessed with lower temperatures, which made walking around outside reasonably pleasant..about 86F. the sky threatened to open up on us, but skirted us completely and we didnt get one drop of rain.

The environment was spotlessly clean.
This rather delightful sculpture was right next to the outdoor eating area.

On the way home we stopped at Office Depot for some stationery, and wouldnt you know it...they had my new car waiting for me:) Well, we can dream, cant we? This baby was gorgeous and BRAND NEW:)

We dont seem to learn...when we leave the boat, we should always take a cooler with water in it. We keep forgetting!!!! and sure enough, we get dried out so quickly and end up buying water. We have a truck load already on the boat. grrr.... next time.
I'm always grateful when there are leftovers in the fridge to facilitate a quick meal when we are desperate for food..and tonight it was the perfect end to the day. Sitting on the back deck with a small glass of wine, and leftovers, watching the fantastic Lightning show over the city of Houston. We have never seen horizontal lightening before. Some of the show was breath-taking...in fact, a few hours later, it is still going on.
We are expecting lower temperatures for the rest of the week and more thunderstorms. I hope the boat detailers get to finish their job in the next couple of days, because I want the Eisenglas installers to arrive and close in the flydeck...make it waterproof! They cant do this until the boat is fully waxed and buffed.
Warren is sitting  opposite me, as I write, shelling sunflower seeds. He tells me it isnt something you would do if you were hungry...it takes too long and the reward is way too small:) I guess he just needs something to do! night night.
