Anyway, waz reminded me this morning that I had made repairs and renewals to the Dinghy cover.
One of the reasons for the tears in the dinghy cover was that it was going places it really shouldnt have. It was designed for a dinghy without a motor on it. So, you can imagine that it was a 'bit' stretched and didnt fit properly.
I mentioned in a previous post that it had ripped, so as I had the sewing machine out on the coffee table, together Waz and I fashioned a cover for the motor and incorporated it into the dinghy cover. It doesnt match and the existing cover threatened to disinegrate, but it is on the dinghy now and seems to work just fine, though it looks pretty weird!
Because the inside of the cover was pretty moldy, we took it up to the fish cutting table just up the dock and scrubbed it as best we could without having it fall to bits in our hands. I have to say it looks 100% on what it was:)
and...just to show you how tight it was to get this 16 ft wide boat between the poles...take a look here...
As you can see, there isnt a whole lot of space on either side. Much kudos to Waz for getting her in there on the second try in 25 knot winds and 4 mph flow down the canal.
