...that I finished the vacuuming! YAYAYAY!
I have been threatening to do this for some time...yes, finish is the operative here. Well, today, in between other things, like emptying the book shelves in the master bedroom, I managed to vacuum the boat inside.
The emptying of the bookshelves part is important. We had to make room for all the books sitting in paper bags in the bunk room. Some of those also need to go to the Friends of the Library, which is where our 'out and about' tour took us today.
We didn't buy more books while there, and I didn't bother to get a receipt for the books for tax purposes, but make no mistake...we will definitely visit again to restock before we leave Port Charlotte.
I would also like to point out that it rained on and off during the day. This is significant because it meant we had to do indoor things.
It dawned cold and overcast, but soon warmed up. Well, I should qualify that last statement by saying *I* soon warmed up...by cleaning! Nothing like cleaning windows to get the body warmed. You should try it, up there in the cold north.
Oh, that's another thing....We are expecting a VERY cold snap, which is slated to cover most of the country by Tuesday. Grrrrrr....
Waz tells me that we will get lows down to 34F and highs somewhere in the low 50'sF. Most of the rest of the country will fall over laughing at that, as they are going to be experiencing lows in the minus 40's F, in Michigan!!!! Minus 35F in Sth Dakota, and even Dallas, Tx isn't going to get away without a minus, by the sound of it! I guess you would say we shouldn't complain?
Vacuuming done, books taken to the Library, papers bagged ready for recycling, and a short visit to the supermarket to stock up on fruit, veg to make soup with and some milk. We end up throwing most of the milk out, bit it is good to have some in the fridge if I need it. We only buy small bottles/cartons, so I don't feel too bad about not using it all.
Late afternoon we Skyped with the youngest child who has returned to NZ from his Family Xmas overseas, and commiserated with is having a cold...air travel at this time of the year will do that to you! Good to know he is safely at home.
Being chilly, I had decided to make a soup for dinner. I haven't made soup since we were in Panama City...must be almost two months, now. I bought a leek for the purpose and some mushrooms and as I already had cooked chicken and some chicken stock I had made with the carcass, I decided to make Creamy chicken/leek/mushroom soup. I also added garlic and onion and some chopped parsley to the mix. It was delicious! Waz had a roll with his, and I had some Kavali Crispbread.
We had already made the decision to go to the movies tonight, so we knew we had to leave here around 7.30 for an 8.10 movie. We finished up the Tiramisu and a cup of tea, and headed out. It had been raining again, so we took our coats with us, because sure as eggs, it would rain as we exited the theatre.
Our goal was to see Wolf of Wall Street. We had seen the shorts last time we went to the theatre, and it looked like it might be fun. Well, it wasn't. We exited the theatre at 9.30. I am by no means a prude or fuddy-duddy, but I don't need to sit and watch depravity in any form, anymore. I just choose not to. Waz agreed to leave with me and we were home by 10pm.
I am a but pissed that we wasted $16 on the tickets. How could I have known better? I forgot that I can look at the reviews on rottentomatoes.com Why didn't I think of that before?
I actually feel grumpy about the whole thing. Silly of me, but I do. I'm not sure what makes me feel that way, but I am sure that if I sleep on it, I will know the answer. Stand by!
Waz has gone to be already, but my brain is still buzzing, so I might settle down and read for a bit. I am reading a Robert Ludlum novel...sure to make me go to sleep, right? International espionage is such a yawn!:)
I have no idea what tomorrow will bring, but it is Sunday...again. Oh...I did buy a Lottery ticket today. I don't mind gambling away $3 for the chance to win $60 Million. Even though I will have to pay the tax man half of that, I don't think I would sneeze at $30m, do you? Well I can dream!:)
Night, night!
